A Murder At The End Of The World

FX’s A Murder at the End of the World hosts ‘A Killer Evening: Cocktails. A Mystery. A Murder.’ Experience

In celebration of their new series, A Murder at the End of the World, FX and RQ reinvented the Murder Mystery Dinner format by combining killer cuisine, tech and talent for a first-of-its-kind experience.

To celebrate the launch of FX’s new and highly-anticipated series, A Murder at the End of the World, FX tapped RQ to create their first-of-its-kind, invite-only, immersive experience titled FX’s A Killer Evening: Cocktails. A Mystery. A Murder.

The in-person adventure took attendees on “a journey to the end of the world” with a night of mystery and intrigue as guests were introduced to the series and key characters at secret locations in New York City and Los Angeles while participating in an immersive, culinary experience.

RQ secured renowned culinary storyteller, Chef Evan Funke of Mother Wolf and celebrated global Chef Victoria Blamey, formerly of Mena, to curate menus for their respective cities which were influenced by the show’s luxurious setting. Meanwhile, Payton Moreland, creator of the popular true-crime podcast Murder With My Husband, was enlisted as the events’ host, guiding participants through challenges and ciphers inspired by the upcoming show. To further enhance the guests’ experience, FX and RQ incorporated interactive touchpoints which included: programming that shapes the guests’ culinary choices, points of engagement via a light-emitting wearable, and photo moment experience with RFID tech guiding their journey as they navigated a posh symposium.

Additionally, projection mapping throughout the activation transported guests to the series’ remote, Icelandic aesthetic, while an AI-inspired “voice of god” interacted with guests live, in-situation throughout the evening. The four-day experience left hundreds of press, influencers and superfans stunned, as planted actors and challenges unlocked an exclusive series reveal.
